Dear Fellow Hamiltonian, I believe it was Yogi Berra who said, "it's deja vu all over again." Well, with the news reported in this morning's Trenton Times I couldn't have said it better myself. If you haven't had a chance to read the article it can be found here: Trenton Times Article Just like four years ago, the last time Mayor Gilmore ran for reelection, the Mayor is once again delaying the presentation of his budget to the Council. After months of promises by the Gilmore Administration that the budget would be presented this month we have now found out that we will not see it for some time, perhaps not until after this November's election. Sound familiar? This the same thing Mayor Gilmore did four years ago when he continually promised Hamilton's taxpayers that there would be no tax increase only to raise taxes not once, but twice, within six months after winning reelection. After raising taxes 25% over the last several years and with the township auditor projecting another 15% tax increase this year it's no surprise that Gilmore would attempt to delay his budget to fool the taxpayers once again. But you know how the old saying goes, "fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. Please forward this message and share it with your neighbors and friends. Don't let them be fooled by Mayor Gilmore again. Regards, Bruce R. Darvas Chairman |
